Announcements

Meeting Site Information
Starting July 14th, we will hold all meetings (and rapier practice) at the Oakeshott Institute, 1035 14th Avenue SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414 (map)

The Oakeshott Institute building is an old church that is being refurbished into a museum and teaching space. We're very excited about this partnership -- the mission of The Oakeshott is very complimentary to our own. There is limited off-street parking off of the building's driveway, plus on-street parking. The meeting during the first week of the month is our moot (garb encouraged, not required). The third week is the business meeting (usually 30-40 minutes of the night) Every week has announcements, show and tell, rapier practice, social gathering, etc.

Officer Position Open: Seneschal
This job requires 2-4 hours per week, regular attendance at Baronial business meetings, moots, and events (occasional attendance at SCA events for Kingdom-wide seneschal meetings). Applicants should feel confident in their ability to work well with the seneschals of Blachemere, Tor Aerie, and Nordleigh, as well as the Baronage of Nordskogen, the officers of the Barony, and the Kingdom Seneschal.

The seneschal is responsible for running the monthly business meetings and managing the Baronial Policy updates (once during his/her tenure). S/he must be capable of reporting in a timely manner four times in the year, and assisting the canton seneschals in completing their reports. S/he is one of the financial officers of the Barony, and will be expected to counter-sign and co-approve checks with the Chancellor of the Exchequer and review baronial bank statements. S/he will be the sole individual to approve and sign contracts on behalf of the Barony, including site rentals for regular meetings and all events. Please contact Baroness Marwen with questions.

Order of Precedence Update
Residents of Nordskogen, your Herald is in need of your assistance!
I'm currently working to update our Order of Precedence for the Barony and need your input for this task.
If you have received a kingdom- or baronial-level award within the last 3 years I'd appreciate knowing about it so I may double-check that against my current list.
If you would like to ensure that your listing in the OP is correct, please send me a note, either email or written post with:
    1) Your names - both SCA and Mundane
    2) Name of Award

I'll be collecting this over the next 3 months to allow folks time to reply. Send your data to me at:
